    Sarahs Key is one the most touching stories that Ive read. While emotional and heart-breaking, it was adventurous and made me read on. Sarahs story was so touching, I almost cried for her. When I first picked up Sarah Smarsh’s book Heartland: A Memoir of Working Hard and Being Broke in the Richest Country on Earth, I expected to find a familiar Smarsh, I grew up in a rural farming community in America’s heartland.

I knew the unceasing nature of work on a farm, though ours was just big enough to sustain my own family, and the weekly routine of clipping out coupons. The beginning of this book threw me a little because the narrator is different from the first book.

So I had to get past that. And it seemed a little slow in the beginning but then picked up for a great story. I cried a bit towards the end so I was definitely caught up in the characters.
